Welcome to Andover District Explorer Scouts

Explorer Scouts are young people aged 14 to 17. They make up the fourth section of the Scouting family. Young people join Explorer Scouts for fun, friendship, outdoor activities, awards, personal and leadership development. We also run the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.

When you join Andover Explorer Scouts you can choose which unit you join (subject to capacity!). There will be times when you will be busy with exams, or Saturday jobs etc, and our Explorer provision means you can opt-in or out of the activities and participate as and when you can.

Want to join in?

Andover Explorer Scouts have more than 75 members, but more are always welcome. You don't even have to have come from a Scouting background!

We run two weekly district-based units, follow the D of E award scheme and also run a Young Leader unit that delivers young leader development training for those 14-17yr olds who are helping with other sections.
